Executive Directors

Hugh Hughes - Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founder

Hugh serves as the Chairman and CEO of Fixnetix Ltd and Chief Executive of Fixnetix Inc. Hugh has more than 30 years' experience in investment banking and the financial services sector. Until October 2005, he was CEO of the London arm of Thales Information Systems, a leading provider of consultancy, systems integration and outsourcing services. Before joining Thales, he set up ITGE, a joint venture between ITG and SGSL (global crossing). Prior to these appointments above, he held the position of Chief Executive at SG Securities Ltd (SGS) for over 10 years.

Hugh started his career at Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt in 1968 and was the youngest person to make partner at WDM in 1981. After 4 years, he left to develop Savory Milln International where he negotiated the sale of the company to Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS) in 1987. Hugh has served on a number of committees including the SBCI Executive Committee and the New Integrated London Office Executive Committee, and he was nominated to the Council of the International Stock Exchange in 1990.

Paul Ellis - Senior Vice President of Business Development and Co-Founder

Paul has more than 16 years' experience working in electronic trading and market data. Paul originally started his career with Reuters PLC before moving on to become Head of UK Market Data Production for ABN AMRO. Paul's expertise lies in developing new opportunities and new markets within the areas of complex data and trading solutions. Prior to co-founding Fixnetix, Paul was Head of UK Business for Net2s, a French financial services systems integrator. He also held a senior position with KPMG developing new business around the application service provider (ASP) market.

Bob Fuller - Chief Administration Officer

Bob has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Fixnetix, Bob was CEO of Equiduct, a pan-European electronic equity exchange. He was also the Director of IT Strategy at Dresdner Kleinwort, where he focused on infrastructure, exchange connectivity, SWIFT connectivity and centrally-cleared products, including exchange-traded derivatives, equities and bonds.

At Fixnetix, Bob looks after all contract negotiations, as well as being responsible for business administration. He is also the Compliance Officer, and takes a special interest in the regulatory changes that have an effect on Fixnetix and its customers.

In addition to his work at Dresdner Kleinwort, Bob was also IT Co-Chair of the Global Straight Through Processing Association (GSTPA) and the Co-Chair of the IT sub-group for the MiFid Joint Working Group set up to evaluate MiFid legislation and its impact across Europe. Bob is still active in this space and contributes to the regulatory community in London and beyond.

Non-Executive Directors

Alasdair Moore - Non-Executive Director & Co-Founder

Alasdair has more than 25 years' experience working in the financial services industry. Previous to co-founding Fixnetix with Hugh Hughes and Paul Ellis, Alasdair was a Director of Tullett Liberty Securities and Tullett Liberty Equities. During this period, and following the ISD2 regulatory changes in Europe, he was instrumental in building the largest network of stock exchange memberships of any independent stockbroker in Europe. In 1999 Alasdair also built the first team of quants to code execution algorithms offering algorithmic execution services at any agency broker in Europe.

Lord Mayor of London Alan Yarrow FCSI (Hon) - Non-Executive Director

Alan Yarrow was sworn into the office of Lord Mayor of the City of London for the year 2014-15. Prior to this he held the title of Alderman for a year and he was the Sheriff of London for the 2011/2012 year, spending his time assisting the Lord Mayor in his role as ambassador for all UK-based financial and professional services. In 2009, he was appointed Chairman of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) having previously served on its Board between 2001 and 2005. He left Dresdner Kleinwort in December 2009, where he served latterly as Group Vice Chairman and Chairman of the UK Bank. Lord Mayor Alan Yarrow currently holds several non-executive posts as Chairman of CISI, Chairman of the Kleinwort Benson Financial Services Holdings, and Non-Executive Director of Turquoise Services and of Fixnetix Ltd. He was formerly Deputy Chairman of the FSA Practitioner Panel, Chairman of the London Investment Banking Association (LIBA), director of Complinet, a member of the Takeover Panel and Vice President of the Council of the British Banker's Association. He was also a member of the Chancellor of the Exchequer's High-Level Stakeholder Group and is an Almoner of Christ's Hospital.

Rob Johnson - Venture Partner

Rob is a Partner with the venture capital firm Delta Partners and also a Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at IESE Business School in Barcelona, where he teaches about venture capital and private equity. Prior to this, Rob was a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at the London Business School for 10 years. A successful entrepreneur and experienced private investor, he built his first business in the US in the database and marketing space. He has been actively involved in the start-up of a number of other businesses and has extensive US and European investment and management experience.

Ken Yeadon - Non-Executive Director

Ken is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Thematic Capital Partners LLP and has over 25 years’ experience in management, trading, technology, large-scale project management and venture investing. Previously Ken was Head of Trading, Sales and e-Commerce for HSBC Asia-Pacific. He has a successful track record in angel and venture capital investing in specialist financial markets technology. Ken also has an extensive history as an investor and practitioner in fixed income, derivatives and FX trading, high frequency trading, statistical-arbitrage and quantitative/arbitrage trading, liquidity management, infrastructure and financial customer relationship management (CRM) projects.
